The Honda CR-V is a compact crossover SUV manufactured by the Japanese company Honda since 1995. It was loosely derived from Honda Civic to satisfy a public demand for a sport-utility vehicle from Honda. The CR-V means ”Comfortable Runabout Vehicle” or ”Compact Recreational Vehicle” (depending on the source). It is produced in both four-wheel drive (4WD) and front wheel drive (2WD), although in many markets such as Australia and the United Kingdom, only front wheel drive is offered. Honda produces the CR-V in Japan, United Kingdom, and USA (East Liberty, Ohio and Greensburg, Indiana).

The 2011 CR-V comes in four trim levels: base LX (starting at $ 21.695 for 2WD model), SE, EX and top-of-the-line EX-L. Competitors include the Toyota RAV4 and Chevrolet Equinox. New for 2011 is the SE trim level. The SE adds rear privacy glass, 17-inch alloy wheels, steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise control buttons and a 160-watt stereo with six speakers and an in-dash six-CD charger.

The 2011 Honda CR-V EX ( starting at $23.995 MSRP for 2WD) adds to SE a one-touch power moon roof with tilt feature, security system, dual-deck cargo shelf, exterior temperature indicator and a digital compass.
The 2011 Honda CR-V EX-L trim comes with leather-trimmed seats and armrests, heated front seats, body colored mirrors and door handless, a USB Audio Interface ant auto on/off headlights.
The engine of Honda CR-V 2011 model is an 2.4 liter, 4-cylinder in line, 16 valve DOHC i-VTEC designed to meet the CR-V’s fuel mileage, lower emission goals and provide both low-rpm torque and plenty of horsepower at higher revs. This engine produces 180 horsepower and 161 lb-ft of torque. EPA mileages estimates are 21 mpg city/28 mpg highway for 2WD models and 21 mpg city / 27 mpg highway for 4WD models.
The transmission is a 5-speed automatic. This transmission features Grade Logic Control system, which helps put an end to gear-hunting when climbing uphill or driving back down. The transmission uses the engine’s broad torque curve for brisk acceleration, optimal fuel economy and smooth-shifting characteristics.
